POLICE OFFICER
The City of Priest River Police Department has an opening for the full-time position of Police Officer. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, at least 21 years of age, and possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. The successful applicant will undergo a thorough background investigation, polygraph examination, psychological evaluation, and if not currently Idaho P.O.S.T. Certified, they must be within one (1) year of hire.
LATERAL HIRES ONLY: Upon hire, a $2,500 hiring bonus will be made with the first regularly scheduled paycheck, and an additional $2,500 will be paid once employed for one (1) year. All payments will be in gross wages and subject to applicable withholdings. The hiring bonus applies only to lateral officer applications received after November 14, 2024, and will cease at the sole discretion of the employer.
Starting salary for entry-level is $50,710.40 to $52,288.80 DOQ, and for lateral entry is $54,828.80 to $68,744.00 DOQ, plus medical, dental, employee assistance program, PERSI retirement plan, and take-home vehicle (must reside within 20 miles of Priest River, Idaho for take home vehicle program).
