Land Use Code Rewrite

The City of Priest River is beginning a comprehensive rewrite of Title 10, which contains the City’s zoning, subdivision, and other land use regulations. The current code no longer provides a complete or consistently organized framework for land use administration. The rewrite will also implement the goals and policies of the City’s newly adopted 2026 Comprehensive Plan.

The project will be completed in phases, beginning with an assessment of the existing code and continuing through a series of City Council workshops on major policy decisions, including allowed uses, housing types, development standards, subdivision requirements, and decision-making authority. A complete draft will then be released for agency and public review before a formal public hearing and anticipated adoption in June or July 2027.
