Comprehensive Plan

The City of Priest River has adopted its updated Comprehensive Plan, establishing a long-term vision to guide land use, public services, infrastructure investment, and community development over the next 20 years. The updated plan reflects current conditions, future opportunities, and extensive public and agency input gathered throughout the planning process. It is designed to support responsible growth while preserving Priest River's small-town character, natural setting, and quality of life.

The Comprehensive Plan serves as the City's official policy guide for future planning and development decisions. Required by Idaho's Local Land Use Planning Act, it provides the framework for zoning, capital improvements, transportation planning, housing, economic development, natural resource protection, and other community priorities. While the Comprehensive Plan establishes the City's long-term vision and policy direction, future changes to zoning regulations and development standards will continue to occur through separate public processes as needed.

The adopted Comprehensive Plan and supporting documents are available below for review and download. The City extends its appreciation to the residents, property owners, business owners, agency partners, and other stakeholders who participated throughout the planning process and helped shape the community's vision for the future.
